What to Anticipate at James River as Construction Begins

Construction to renovate the James River Clubhouse, the first of our three upcoming capital projects, will soon be underway. The start of this project marks an exciting time in our Club’s history as we begin to bring to life master plans that have been four-plus years in the making.

Work on the James River Clubhouse will begin in early January, and if all goes according to schedule, we expect to unveil the updated clubhouse in the fall of 2025.

Here is what to expect as construction begins on the James River Campus:

A number of areas will remain open, including the James River Pro Shop, East Terrace and James River Snack Bar, Women’s Locker Room, golf operations staff offices, and basement level/golf cart storage. The Golf Performance Center and Tuckahoe Creek Snack Bar will also be open.

A large portion of the clubhouse will be closed—the main entrance, dining room, patio, Ladies’ Card Room, Men’s Grill, Men’s Locker Room, and kitchen.

A temporary lounge will be conveniently located on-site during construction. The space will offer seating, a bar, a limited food menu, tables for card play, and restrooms.
