Tuckahoe Creek Course Update

We are pleased to share another periodic update on the renovation of the Tuckahoe Creek Golf Course. The construction phase of the project is largely complete with the installation of asphalt cart paths last week. The course looks amazing, and it is already showcasing the vision behind the project.

The project successfully navigated several unforeseeable construction challenges over the course of the winter and spring and is now entering its final phase focused on course conditioning and preparation for play.

Following a series of construction and agronomic evaluations and recommendations by our Golf Course Architect, Andrew Green, our Golf Course Maintenance team, and agronomy and turf experts over the last two weeks, the Club is targeting a late spring 2027 reopening of the Tuckahoe Creek Course.

Our team will use the upcoming months to strengthen turf health, refine playing surfaces, and prepare the course for long-term success. Planned agronomic work includes an aggressive greens aerification program this fall, intended to minimize the need for spring aerification and materially strengthen playing conditions when the course reopens.

The winter season will provide an opportunity to evaluate the course through a full weather cycle, allowing the team to observe drainage performance, identify areas requiring refinement following construction, and make adjustments before play begins.

This maturation period will enhance turf quality, playability, and strategic character, helping ensure that Tuckahoe Creek opens at the level envisioned for this generational investment in the CCV golf experience.

Andrew Green believes the result will impress:

“I think we have created something magical for the membership. Tuckahoe Creek will elevate CCV among the very best golf experiences in Virginia. It's going to turn heads throughout the Commonwealth and across the country.”

-Andrew Green, Principal Architect | A.H. Green Design

We will continue to monitor progress throughout the coming fall and winter and provide additional updates as reopening approaches.

In the meantime, hear more from Andrew Green during his recent visit in the video below.
