We are excited to announce that all construction plans have been approved and permits are in hand for the renovation of the Tuckahoe Creek Course. The project will officially begin in mid-October, though golfers will notice project preparation activity on the course over the next few weeks.
This early work includes:
Draining of the pond on hole #5 beginning Monday, September 15 to accommodate the redesign of holes #5 and #6.
Installation of barricade tape near the tee on hole #4 and along the outer edge of holes #5 and #14. This buffer, required by Henrico County, is an important resource protection measure and establishes a 100-foot wide vegetated zone between the course and Tuckahoe Creek/its adjacent wetlands.
Herbicide application to select holes the week of September 22, which will discolor the grass.
Once the project is underway, initial construction will focus on lower-elevation holes. As a result, Tuckahoe Creek will reopen for member play following the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, even while renovation is underway. While all 18 holes will not be available, our goal is to keep as much of the course open as possible for as long as possible.
Stay tuned for more details as we approach the start of construction.
Key Dates
Monday, October 13 – Work Begins
Monday, October 13-Tuesday, October 21 – Course Closed for the Dominion Energy Charity Classic
Wednesday, October 22 – Tuckahoe Creek Course Reopens*
*Please note, golf will still be available when the course reopens following the tournament, it just not may be all 18 holes.
Stay tuned for a more detailed project schedule in the coming weeks.
