As the current chapter of the Tuckahoe Creek Course comes to a close, we are gathering member memories to honor its history. We are excited to share some member-submitted memories and continue to collect more in celebration of the course as we know it while looking forward to its next iteration.
We’d love for you to share your favorite stories, photos, and moments so we can celebrate the course as we know it while looking forward to the future iteration.
Email your memories to ccvnews@theccv.org.

In 1992, Dave Redmond and I had a very memorable final round in the Club Championship. Lots of people were on hand to watch our 6-hole playoff, which resulted in a tournament win for me. It was a great day of golf for two close friends who played many rounds together over the following years. It was a day we both reminisced about regularly up until Dave's passing in 2024. In spite of his loss, Dave always remarked it was the "best day of golf ever.” I agree!

I was playing with my wife’s sister’s husband and we both “stuck” our second shots on #4. So much so that we got some “we’re not worthy” bows from the group on 7 tee. We both made our birdie putts!

Can’t quite make out the date but I think it’s July 26, 1983. And yes, the greens all had two flags (and two tees) so you could play 18 on slightly different holes. And yes, it was the flag we were playing (red one). My opponent refused to pay me for a greenie because he said the ball wasn’t on the green. May not be the course everyone remembers but it’s still my favorite memory.

My favorite all-time memory of the Creek was winning the Virginia State Women’s amateur in 2003 with many of my CCV Club mates in attendance.
